Go back to your first scenario, and try Path menu > Break apartġ. Or Shift + Ctrl + K, if you prefer keyboard shortcuts. You were almost there with your original description, except that you need to use Path menu > Break apart (not "Break path at selected nodes" button on Node tool control bar). I'm not sure, and that's not the proper way to do what you want anyway. If you converted that single open path (the black one) to a closed path, using Path menu > Stroke to Path, you might be able to use it to divide the rectangle into 2 pieces using a path operation. You can't use any path operation (such as Division) with a single open path. If you use Path menu > Break apart, they will become 2 unique paths. That would be because they are 2 subpaths of the same compound path. Then you said you created 2 rectangles, but when you selected them, they were selected together. When multiple clips are joined together on the V1 track, and we want to trim out the one of the middle clip (make it shorter at the end) the adjacent right side clips move to the left in the timeline to retain the join.First you described some node editing, where you added nodes at the points where the line interesects the rectangle. Kudos.Īfter having made the split screen with track on top method and all keyframes/animation in place if we want to replace one of the six videos with a new one (same timing and audio) is it possible to replace without having to redo all the operations (moving segments to the top, adding effects, keyframes etc)? Looks like the software development team has given immense thoughts while designing this software. I was trimming the cuts and found the Keyframes staying where they are. The keyframes positions (proportional) is exactly what I needed. Yes I have also moved to the "track on top method". Would it be easier (less manual configuration) to use the multicam bin method to achieve this. Is there a way I can share with you the flow / routing methods used (in some kind of a text / xml file exported from lwks) so you can suggest if there is a faster/better way of doing what I did? Is that the only/correct way or am I missing some easy way.įurther post every "Alt+S" I was required to manually modify the Routing paths for some of the screens as the screens would change their location! (eg from top right to bottom right and so on) when reapplying the split screen effect. So if I do Alt+S say 12 times during the Edit sequence I need to reapply and reconfigure the Quad Split screen effect 12 times!. It took a lot of manual efforts especially because Alt+S cuts the video track at the cursor location and the Quad Split screen DVE effect is removed from that point forward. Here is a very rough cut WIP result (this does not use all the actual videos and I intentionally used landscape and portrait videos to see the impact) I managed to create a trial Quad Split Screen video and used the Alt+S method you suggested to bring required tracks to the foreground.Īlso added keyframes to get the desired Zoom effect for the smaller screens to the center and back one by one.
